Eloise Hester

Eloise Hudgins Hester, 87 of Sanford passed away Monday October 28, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday November 2, 2019 at Cool Springs Baptist Church. Burial will be following the Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Hester was born in Granville Co, NC on December 12, 1931 to the late Elijah Graham Hudgins and Lela Matthews Hudgins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Ernest Raymond Hester. Mrs. Hester worked for many years in the textile industry and was a faithful member of Cool Springs Baptist Church, the Sutphin Sunday School Class and the WMU Bible Study Group.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hester was preceded in death by her sisters, Iris H. McDonald and Doris Hudgins; brothers-in-law, Fred McDonald, Winston Hester, and Virgil Cole; sister-in-law, Margaret Hester.

Mrs. Hester is survived by her daughters, Deborah Roscoe (Doug), and Rebecca Poe each of Sanford, and Tammy Bobbitt (Keith) of Carthage; grandchildren, Katie Shew (Jim), Emily Roscoe, Stephen Poe (Kelly), Kenneth Spivey (Elizabeth), and Michelle Bobbitt; great-grandchildren, Hamilton Shew, Charlotte Shew, and Jackson Poe; sister, Audrey Pickard (Bill) of Raleigh; brother, Walter Hudgins (Marilyn) of Lillington; and sister-in-law, Julia Cole of Sanford.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10 AM, prior to the service, in the Narthex at Cool Springs Baptist Church.
