Edgar Wood

November 5, 1953 — November 12, 2025

Edgar Leroy Wood, 72, of Cameron passed away on Wednesday Nov. 12, 2025. No arrangements are planned at this time.

He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert Leroy Wood Jr., and Cozetta Brown and daughter Angie Burke and brother Ricky Wood.

He is survived by his wife Ginny Wood; children Brian Wood (Candy), Aaron Wood, Joe Dingee (Christina Prieto), and Kevin Stockwell (Stevie); grandchildren Brian Wood Jr., Elexus Wood, Ray Stockwell, Sierra Stockwell, Katelyn Hartmann, Kenzie Britt (Sam), and Chase Davies; sister Pam Allen; and several nieces and nephews.

Eddie had a huge passion for fishing, a day on the water brought many a smile to his face. He loved sharing and teaching his children and grandchildren all about the joy of getting that 1st nibble. He never cared if they caught all the fish – he simply loved getting to share his passion with them. He was always looking for his next favorite lure.

From Ginny:

26 years ago, when I met Eddie, I did not realize how lonely or alone I was. He lit up my life with joy and laughter. He will be greatly missed for the rest of my life. He loved to challenge me about things and bet me a quarter. When I knew he would lose the bet, it always made me laugh. He did not let many people into his world but when he did you knew you had a true friend that would love and believe in you always with no judgements. One of his favorite songs was Simple Man, and that describes him and the way he lived his life.

From Ray:

For as long as I’ve been alive, grandaddy has been my hero. There are too many little moments to put on paper and somehow none of them will ever be able to express my love and admiration. All that is left to say is I’ll forever hold your anchor. With a wink, Ray.

From Sierra:

I love you and love sitting on your lap and playing with your beard. Love you, Sierra.

From Kevin:

Eddie has always been a man of no judgement. I met him when I was young, in trouble, unknowing of pretty much everything about being a man. The time you get with someone you very much respect and look up to is unfortunately never enough. I know he will always be with me. I will always talk to him and ask him for advice and strength. My time with you has made me feel confident in taking care of my family. You helped me become a man. You loved me. I will always love you! Thank you for being you, Dad!

From Stevie:

From the moment I met Eddie, his quiet strength and boundless love were unmistaken. He gave everything and asked nothing in return. Though he spoke little, his words were full of wisdom, warmth and wit. Our family won’t be the same without him, but I find comfort with knowing he is watching over us, especially Ginny and his grandchildren.
