Denise Tyler Woods

Denise “Deni” Tyler Woods, 71, passed away at home Tuesday, January 6, 2026.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled in the spring.

She was preceded in death by parents Graham and Sara Tyler. Denise was graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and retired IT professional. She loved cats, walking and riding her bike with friends. An avid quilter, she gifted family and friends with her unique designs, infectious laugh and contagious optimism for life making all feel special. The heart of her family, she was laughter on a dark day and could turn trinkets into treasures.

Deni is survived by sisters Marti Hamlin and Patti Cotter (husband Roger); brother Chuck Tyler; nieces Lindsay Powell, Dana Cotter (husband Kris Butler), Erin Cotter and Elise Tyler; nephews Stephen Hamlin (wife Jamie) and Matthew Tyler.
