Delores was born and raised in Goldston North Carolina to Corbett and Clara Gaines on July 5, 1930. Later she attended Wake Forest University in Wake Forest North Carolina. During those years she met her husband Harry Register and they were married in December of 1949. Delores had many passions in life but her greatest love was her family. Delores dedicated her life to raising her four children and caretaking for love ones and grandchildren. Delores was a member on the First Presbyterian Church in Sanford and a dedicated member for over 50 years.  Delores spent much of her time in community service with the Sanford Hospital, First Presbyterian Church, Meals on wheels, girl scouts just to name a few. Delores had a great love for all animals and was always quick to take a homeless animal and give them shelter and love and nurture them. Delores loved to travel and was always up for a good adventure. She never met a stranger and touched the lives of many with her warm smile and an open door and a glass of sweet tea with lemon. She always made you feel at home and loved no matter who you were or where you came from.

Mrs. Register was preceded in death by her husband Harry Register, her son, David Register, and a brother, Shellie Gaines.
