Dale Leaton Williamson

May 18, 1949 — August 10, 2017

Dale Leaton Williamson, 68 of Sanford passed away Thursday August 10, 2017. Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday at Shallow Well United Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery

Mr. Williamson was born in Montgomery Co, son of the late Odie Leaton Williamson and Pearl Esdell Kennedy Williamson. Dale was a 1967 graduate of North Moore High School in Robbins, attended Appalachian State University and graduated from Sanford Business College. After 46 years in the mobile\modular home industry, he retired as Purchasing Manager in July 2016. Mr. Williamson was a longtime member of Shallow Well United Church of Christ serving in many different capacities including, Usher & Chairman of the Ushers, Deacon, Stewardship Finance Committee and Nominating Committee and President of the Faithful Followers Sunday School Class. Dale will also be remembered as a diehard Tar Heel Fan.

Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carolyn Todd Williamson; son, Todd Leaton Williamson and wife Catie; grandchildren, Abigail Carol Williamson and Tyler Leaton Williamson; brother in law, Jerry H. Todd and wife Pat.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Saturday at Rogers Pickard Funeral Home
