Clarita Ruiz Torres

Clarita Ruiz Torres, 93 of Sanford peacefully passed away surrounded by her loved ones Sunday May 24, 2026. The family will greet friends from 12:00 until 2:00 pm Saturday (5/30/2026) with funeral services following at 2:00 at Rogers Pickard Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lee Memory Gardens.

Clarita was born in Puerto Rico, a daughter of the late Manuel Torres and Pascuala De La Cruz. She was preceded in death by her husband Rey Ruiz, daughter Shirley Sayers, and sisters, Manuela Torres and Carmen Cardona. Clarita dedicated her life to serving her God, Jehovah. Baptized on 11/26/1955, she quickly recognized the importance of sharing her faith with others setting off a life career of more than 40 years in fulltime volunteer service helping others learn about the bible.

She is survived by her daughters, Dinah Montez, and Rose M. Queen; son Rey Ruiz; grandchildren, Elizabeth Sayers, Ryan Ruiz, Christina Barr, Rachel Lawson, William “Billy” Sayers, Brandon Ruiz, Christopher Ruiz, and Andrew Ruiz; great grandchildren, David Ruiz, Preston Malone, Tate Lawson, Tucker Lawson, William Sayers, Scott Sayers; brothers, Ramon Torres, Gregory Torres, Manuel “Manny” Torres, and Ceasar Torres.
