Catherine Elizabeth Swanson

Catherine Elizabeth Graham Swanson, 77 of Sanford passed away at her home Wednesday August 19, 2026.

Cathy was born in Newberry, SC, daughter of the late William Felix Graham and Thelma Catherine Wilson Graham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson Christopher Lynn Graham.

Cathy was an amazing mother, grandmother, and friend who was kind, compassionate, and giving. She loved the little things in life, her pets, flowers, spending time with her family and the more decadent delicacies in things such as ice creams, cakes, and fudge. Cathy fought hard her entire life, overcoming countless struggles, hardships, and difficulties but she remained brave and undaunted until the very end. Through it all she remained a beckon of light to everyone she held close to her heart. She will be missed more than words can express.

Surviving are her children, Tina Renee Graham, and Victor David Swanson (Tony); granddaughter, Karly Marie Eckey (Brandon); great grandchildren, Broughton Lee Butler and Kaeson Christopher Butler; and brothers, Jerry Wilbur Graham (Susan) and William Clyde Graham (Laurie).

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, August 24" at Rogers Pickard Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be private.

The family will greet friends in the chapel beginning at 1:00 pm before the service.
