Carolyn Woodard Newton

Carolyn “Jo” Newton was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on January 20, 2022 at age 77.

She was born to Ollis and Letha Woodard on June 2, 1944 in Rentz, GA. Jo was the youngest of six siblings who preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter Lee Newton Arnold (Garrett) and grandson, Joshua Arnold. Jo is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Throughout Jo’s professional career she worked for numerous medical practices (Dr. M. Cade Covington and Sandhills Family Practice) as a Certified Medical Assistant.

Jo loved spending time with her family. She was a true nurturer and loved helping others. Jo had a green thumb and could root anything. Jo was an avid reader and especially loved mysteries. She often joked that she used to read romance novels, but after her divorce, she switched to reading about murder.
