Boyce Elbert Cox, 86, passed away on Sunday January 21, 2018.

 

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol Cameron Cox; 4 daughters- Lisa Cox Farlow (Eric) of Asheboro; Karen Cox Thomas (Lonny) of Sanford; Lois Cox Stansell (Gary) of Monroe; Claire Cox Woodlief (David) of Apex; one sister, Vivian Thomas Cox (Alan) of Sanford; 10 grandchildren- Tyler and Miles Farlow; Emilie Norris, Amanda Norris Newton (Jacob), and Caleb Thomas; Adam and Sarah Stansell; Jacob, Kali, and Jonathan Woodlief; and one great-grandchild- Haydin Farrell Newton. He also had an honorary son, Nam Nguyen (Hai) of Sanford, and granddaughters Lynn and Ariel Nguyen.He was preceded in death by his mother, Pollie Wicker Thomas and one great-grandson, Blake McKinley Rogers.

 

Boyce was born January 17, 1932 in Lee County. He graduated from Greenwood High School and was employed for many years at Carolina Aquatech Pools. He was a member of Pocket Presbyterian Church, where he served in various leadership positions, including Clerk of Session. Boyce was also a member of the Lemon Springs Ruritan Club, where he served as treasurer for many years.

 

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, January 24 at 11 am at Pocket Presbyterian Church with visitation immediately following in the Church fellowship hall.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Pocket Presbyterian Church, 669 Pocket Church Road, Sanford, NC 27330.
