Blanche Jordan Black, 83 of Sanford peacefully passed away Friday, May 2, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday May 7th at Cool Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
Born in Harnett County, Blanche was a daughter of the late Napolian June Jordan and Thelma Barbour Jordan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Black, and siblings, JB Jordan and Joyce Oliver. She was a longtime member of Cool Springs Baptist church where she served and taught from the toddlers, 4/5 year olds to the 1st/2nd graders. Mrs. Black was the anchor of her family whom she loved dearly. She will be remembered by her warm heart, gentle spirit, and time spent with her family. She loved God’s word, enjoyed her early morning devotional time, memorizing Scripture, planting flowers, gospel music, and was a great cook. As so many have said about her: “To know her, was to love her! She was the most selfless, God fearing woman who made an impact on so many lives.”
Mrs. Black is survived by her daughters, Diane B Kivett (Donald), and Wendy B Lamm (Lee); grandchildren, Halee Sullivan (Grady), Abby Lamm, Crystal Weichelt (Travis), and Melissa Cox (Bryan); great grandchildren, Bryson, Callie, Michaela, Caleb, Savannah, Jaxson, Maxton, Alivia, Asher, and Deacon; great-great grandchildren, Harper and Blakley; brother, Robert Jordan and sister, Shirley Strickland.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Tuesday at Cool Springs Baptist Church.
Memorial donations can be made to FirstHealth Hospice Foundation, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374.
