I've known Mrs. Bert Matthews since I was a child, as a close friend to both my parents and grew up knowing her as a smart and sharp thinking lady. She will be missed by her family but Lee County has missed her even more. Her strength and leadership will always be remembered and appreciated. I grew up observing her ability to serve our county.

Representative Robert T. Reives,II Dec 22 2021 9:42 AM

Today once again my heart is heavenly burden with the loss of a dear and close friend. Words cannot express what I feel, Mrs. Bert Matthews was a woman of courage a friend who supported me and others on many occasions. She represented Lee County with Honor. She proved and devoted her life to God family and our Lee community needs. She has been missed for a while but never forgotten for her deeds will always speak her name and be a friend in my heart forever. May God continue to bless the family.
