Benjamin "Ben" Stanfield Yarborough

It is with great sadness we announce the death of Benjamin "Ben" Stanfield Yarborough. Ben, 96, husband of Dorothy Brown Yarborough, met Jesus at his home surrounded by his wife of 73 years and daughter. Funeral Services will be held at Cool Springs Baptist Church on Thursday January 27, 2022 at 11 am. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Born and raised in Sanford, Ben approached everything he did with great determination and strength. With that heart, he served his country as Army Medic in WWII and served 42 distinguished years with the United States Postal Service. After retirement, he dedicated his time and service to Grace Christian School and Lee Christian School. He also served on the Lee Christian School Board. Ben was on the Memphis Preservation Society Board and helped with the Boys and Girls Club.

Together, Ben and Dot have five children. Benjamin Stanfield Yarborough Jr. "Stan", Michael Lamar Yarborough "Mike" (Christie), Randall Wesley Yarborough "Randy", Sylvia Yarborough Stokes (Ricky), and Cynthia Yarborough Nichols. They also have 10 grandchildren: Beth (Brett), Heather (Bryan), Jeremy, Meredith (Nathan), Justin (Tonya), Joshua (Joy), Benjamin (Lydia), Jared (Elizabeth), Adam (Danielle), and Brice. They have 19 great-grandchildren.

Ben loved his church family at Cool Springs Church, loved his Savior, and never missed an opportunity to share his favorite verse, Romans 8:38-39 "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Family will receive friends from 9:30am to 11 am before the service.
