Ann Womack

Ann Phillips Womack, 80 of Sanford passed away Saturday July 4, 2020.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday at Cool Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. 

Born in Chatham County, She was a daughter of the late Robert Anderson Phillips and Eutha Hilliard Phillips. She was a longtime member of Cool Springs Baptist Church where she served many capacities. 

Mrs. Womack is survived by her children, Kelly W. Vernon (Eric) , Keith Womack (Amanda) and Kerri W. Wells (Jeromie) all of Sanford; grandchildren, Aaron Vernon (Kristin), Hunter Vernon (Morgan), Rachel V. Sullivan (Nick), Hannah Womack, Jon-Michael Womack, Mia Womack,  Evan Wells, Connor Wells and Jackson Wells; great grandchildren, Kate, Carter and Lily Vernon; one brother Charles E. "Bucky" Phillips (Frances) of Sanford; sister in law, Ruby Lombardy, and brother in law, Jerry Womack (Alice). She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Ray Womack; sisters, Edna Kate Durham (Hubert), Bobbie Jean Atkins (Boots), Frances Crowson (Wayne), and Naomi Perry (AJ).

"To have known her was to love her, and to know that she loved you.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She adored her family and made sure that each one knew how much she loved them.  She never missed a sporting event, dance recital, horse show, school performance or church program for her family.  She was the epitome of the Proverbs 31 woman.  She will be missed greatly, but we find peace in knowing that she is reunited with her husband, Johnny Ray Womack, in heaven
