Anson O. "Buddy" Harrington

February 7, 1947 ~ January 28, 2019 (age 71)

Anson “Buddy” Orethus Harrington, age 71, of Sanford, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Lee County, NC on February 7, 1947 son of the late Joseph Duncan Harrington, Sr. and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Stewart Harrington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Asenath Merle Haithcox Harrington and sister Carolyn Jean Harrington Lynch. He was the proud owner of Install Incorporated which he founded in 1994.  His impeccable work ethic and love of rigging and millwright service evolved and expanded over the years to become one of the leading full service industrial general contractors in the United States.

Buddy loved to be with his family.  They were his pride and joy.  He was the best Papa to his four grandchildren and even so like a father to some.  Every summer, Buddy and his family enjoyed the beach and camping at Kerr Lake where he enjoyed the lake life skiing, tubing, boating, hanging around his pool with family and friends and just being together laughing. Additionally, Buddy took great pride in giving back to the community through various donations and gifts. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and dog Artica. His humor, dedication, loyalty, and unfaltering ability to care for others will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by daughter Tina Webster and husband Tim of Randleman; daughter Shannon Rosser and husband Mike of Sanford; grandchildren Haley Elizabeth Webster, Ashley Kay Webster, Noah Anson Johnson, and Evan Lee Johnson; step granddaughters Kristin Krajewski, Breanna Rosser and Marisa Rosser;  siblings, Beth Yow, Shirley Harrington, Sylvia Brown and husband Johnny, Frances Brown and husband Jimmy, Linda Gibson and husband Jimmy, Duncan Harrington, Jr., and wife Shirley, Barbara O’Quinn and husband Jimmy, Gary Harrington and wife Sharon, Scott Harrington, and Debbie Wall and husband Red, many nieces and nephews; his husky Artica and companion Linda Yow and her grandson Jaylin Harrison.

The family will receive friends Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home and at other times at the family home. Funeral service will be held at Poplar Springs United Methodist Church on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
